  • MOVED

We have officially moved this Inspired Portrait Blog, and want you to be the first to see. You can get to the new site by clicking on one of the links below.

Don't forget to bookmark the new blog site to check back for new stories & images inspired by you. Sales and promotional events will also be on the new site, so you won't want to miss out. I will no longer be using this site as my business web-blog, but I am excited about the look and feel (and that is it matches my home site) of the new blog.

I am also working on setting up another, more personal Blog, where I will share funny stories, poetry, creative writing and probably a few random rants, or whatever is on my mind that day. I'll let you know about that site soon!

Thank you, Xanga for having us for this long, but it's time to move.

  • Princess Kind of Day

Kids are a blessing to work with. They are the most honest, warm and curious bunch. Photographing children allows me to work on my patience and enjoy each minute I am able to work with the child. Here is a recent sweetie who was excited about her third birthday. We went for a little nature walk and saw bugs, flowers and collected some cool looking rocks.

  • Inspired by Everyday People

    Artist's Choice
This first photo was inspired by a chat with one of the pediatricians that cared for my daughter the week she was born. While we stayed on the 5th floor of ISJ, many staff questioned us on the "fancy" camera my husband and I had and felt inclined to get their photography questions answered. One of the doctors wanted to know how to photograph a soccer ball to put on the wall of her child's room. (Her idea was to put the ball on a white background and turn the image black and white) This is the suggestion I gave her, and had the chance to create it myself this past week with a high school senior

The rest of this images are of the same very kind driven young man, whom I have known for a few years. He showed up bearing a great big grin, but I created many serious poses for him as well. Here is sample from his senior portrait session.

  • A Family of Fun

This family traveled from two states to come together for a photo session last Monday. The rain sprinkled down on us for a few mere minutes, but didn't stop our fun. We did a variety of different groups, which I encourage with all family photos. I wanted to share this session with you, because the clothing they selected was perfect. Many times I am asked what to wear. This is a great example....all the outfits are in the same color harmony, no one had a big crazy pattern that stood out, and yet everyone still could wear something that flattered him/herself.

Artist Choice: should I ever choose a favorite family photo, this may be it....

About Sherry

  • I get the hiccups everyday. My career is a huge part of my life, it gives me complete joy to capture someones true self, and I am humbled at the lives a single portrait can change. I don't sit still, I talk a lot, most of it is meaningless ramble, but once in awhile I say something worth writing down. I am eager to save the planet one plastic bottle at a time. I'm not great at telling people how much they mean to me, but I've been praying about it. Eventually I would like to be as selfless as my mom, as hard working as my dad and provide the kind of unconditional love my husband shares with me. I don't see retirement in my future, it would be incredible hard to stop doing what I love. I'm 28, and I want to inspire you to be the difference for someone else.
